Ear Plugs Combat Noise Poulltion

Noise is the top complaint to New York City’s 311 hotline, set up by Mayor Mike Bloomberg for information requests and quality-of-life issues. This might seem odd given Gotham’s reputation for possessing the toughest set of noise pollution laws in the entire nation, but the apparent incongruity is easily explained by the fact that enforcement is lax. Indeed, the casual attitude of the police, not to mention the courts, prevails throughout the city, and it is a wonder how such an allegedly tough set of laws should have ever been proposed in the first place, let alone actually passed! In the interim, a set of foam ear plugs may be useful.
